Do you have experience supporting children with SEND needs?

YSA Education are currently working with a special school in South Birmingham that provides and education for children with Autism between the ages of 4-18 years. This school prides itself on ensuring all children reach their full potential through high standards of teaching and learning. Your role as a SEN Teaching Assistant would be to work alongside the class teacher, helping them to meet the differing needs of the children in the classroom. You must be willing to carry out personal care and be confident in supporting children with Autism and challenging behaviour. The role does have the option of becoming long term for the right candidate.

Role Requirements:

  • A nurturing individual with a passion for working with children.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, alongside teaching staff.
  • Prior experience of working with children- experience of working with children with SEN needs would be advantageous.
  • Willing to support a pupil with personal care when necessary.
  • Able to use their initiative to support learning.

Benefits:

  • Full-time school hours 5 days a week
  • Long-term until the end of the academic year at the least.

Requirements:

  • DBS on the update service or willing to get one.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Knowledge of working with SEND (*complex needs ideally)

The suitable applicants must have experience or willing to gain experience within special needs. Support will be provided for any teaching assistants that feel they have transferrable experience.
