Do you have experience supporting children with SEN needs?

YSA Education are currently working with an all through special school in Tamworth that provides for children between the ages of 4-18 years. The school is an alternative provision for children with SEMH and challenging behaviour. Your role as a SEN Teaching Assistant would be to work 1-1 to support the pupils in either the KS2 class or KS3 class on a full time, long term basis alongside the teacher. Class size range between 6-10 pupils and Team Teach would be beneficial but not a necessity.

Role Requirements:

  • A nurturing individual with a passion for working with children.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, alongside teaching staff.
  • Prior experience of working with challenging behaviour.
  • Able to use their initiative to support learning.


  • Full-time school hours and part time hours.
  • SEND TA (KS2 age groups and KS3 age groups needed)
  • Challenging behaviour/ SEMH
  • Long-term until the end of the academic year at the least.
  • £87-£90 per day
  • DBS refund


  • DBS on the update service or willing to get one.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Experience of working with SEMH/ Challenging Behaviour (does not have to be in a school setting)
